More Concentration Paintings
Thursday, May 14, 2009
Ahh I haven't posted anything here in a long time AGAIN AH i^i
I just wanted to post some more of my concentration paintings now that I'm done with the whole series (12 in all), and sent them in to the college board last week c8 SO YEAH I said before that my central idea/theme was to use masks (specifically animal skulls), body language, and color to show/symbolize a person's specific personality.
And I resized these a lot because this is the size we had to submit them as online, and I'm too lazy to re-resize the larger versions ... again |D And MAN these photos came out kinda badly too, but OH WELL I GUESS 8I
ANYWAYS:
The Lazy Sloth (Acrylics).jpg)
The Graceful Swan (Acrylics).jpg)
The Playful Puppy (Prismacolor Colored Pencils).jpg)
The Foxy Vixen (Acrylics).jpg)
The Dirty Pig (Acrylics).jpg)
YEAH THAT'S IT. I'm going to have to take AP Studio Art again next year since it's the highest art class we have at my school, so I'll have to come up with another concentration for next year BAWWWW ;A;
Next post I'll have some good sketches and stuff for you guys, and I'll be making a spam dump again soon, too 8)

Some stuff from art class c8
For the second semester of your AP portfolio you're supposed to come up with a theme/concept and all your drawings in class have to have that theme for the rest of the semester. We have to do a painting a week 8E My theme/concept is people showing emotions through body language and color instead of facial expressions, BUT THEN instead of having their faces be blank, or not having a face at all (which would make it confusing because the body is doing something totally different then the face) I decided to have all the people wearing masks, specifically animal skulls. Because a lot of animals symbolize certain personality traits, I wanted to combine the people's body language, plus the animals and colors to really make the person's personality stand out. THIS SOUNDS KINDA CONFUSING but when you look at them you'll figure it out xD Here are some of my favorites ...
The Vulnerable/Shy Mouse, The Powerful Ram, and The Arrogant Crocodile:
2 years old. Contour line shells (sharpie and watercolor):
2 years old. Charcoal still life:
3-minute contour line figure drawing (charcoal):
Dirty room (mixed media):
Self-portrait (acrylics):
Recent Doodles and Old Art

I'm being really selective about what to upload here I guess, so I haven't been updating lately xD
My design for FatPandaLynn for our design trade. One of the things she said she would like was a centaur character, and that she needed more dark characters SO YES. I really like this design 8]
Aaaand a quick, tiny little sheep because she's Lynn's oekaki's new mascot xD
THEY'RE BOTH YELLOW 8U
I guess I'll upload some of my art from my art class last year, because I finally got some (crappy) photos from my art teacher aslkdjs.jpg)
Here's a landscape I did in acrylics. It's from a photo I took in Connecticut at Mystic Seaport, except the photo was in ... black and white lol Everyone still likes this a lot even though I don't like it that much anymore, but OH WELL.jpg)
Contour line drawing of my friend in a chair. The photo came out weird 8(.jpg)
A wavy apricot cake! We had to find a photo and put a grid over it, and make every box on the grid wavy, and then draw the picture. Done in prismacolor pencils 8)
I have a lot more stuff from last year and ... quite a bit from this year too but I'll make another post with more of those some other time
